SSL certificate
Who issued a site’s certificate, when it expires, and whether the chain is complete.
Chain, expiry, covered domains and TLS versions appear here.
What it does
Every HTTPS site has a certificate that proves it is the real site. When it expires, browsers show a full-page warning. This check is run by our server, from outside your network.
How to use it
- 1Type a domain.
- 2Read the expiry date and any issues.
- 3Create a free watcher to be told before it expires.
Questions
What does “chain incomplete” mean?
The server is missing an intermediate certificate. Some phones will refuse to connect.
How often should I check?
You don’t have to. A watcher checks once a day and emails you 30, 7 and 1 day before expiry.
Do you store the result?
Only if you save it as a report.
